Spring

Nettles - Contain iron and histamine, among other things. Nettles purify the system. tone the body, and lower blood pressure
Dandelion leaves - full of vitamin A, C and iron; a blood purifier and a diuretic
Purple sprouting broccoli - rich in nutrients. vitamin C, and compounds thought to combat cancer

Summer

Mackerel - rich in omega 3 fatty acids, which are linked to improved brain power, reduced heart disease and blood pressure
Garlic - anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, acts against blood clotting, recommended for common colds
Blackcurrants - extremely rich in vitamin C, good for sore throats

Autumn

Elderberries - used as remedy for coughs, colds and bronchitis: can also relieve the pain of neuralgic conditions such as sciatica
Apples - huge range of health benefits, from reducing heart disease and cancer risk to improving lung function, protecting against colds and promoting
Wild game - high protein, lean, low-fat and has mostly lived either a free-range or entirely wild lifestyle
